Meth-heads, man-made monsters, and murderous Neo-Nazis. Blissed out club kids dying at the speed of sound. The un-dead and the very soon-to-be-dead. They're all here, trying to claw their way free. From the radioactive streets of a war-scarred future, where the nuclear bombs have become self-aware, to the fallow fields of Nebraska where the kids are mainlining lightning bugs, this is a world both alien and intensely human. This is a place where self-discovery involves scalpels and horse tranquilizers; where the doctors are more doped-up than the patients; where obsessive-compulsive acid-freaks have unlocked the gateway to God and can't close the door. This is not a safe place. You can turn back now, or you can head straight into the heart of. the Angel Dust Apocalypse

One of the best short story/vignette collections I've ever read. Jeremy Robert Johnson shows himself amazingly talented with this book, providing stories that are skillfully scary and funny when not simply unnerving. These are eerie visions of a world "not post-apocalyptic, but post-yesterday." It's a dark, creepy world seemingly inconceivable with its absurdities, but real enough to be looming just off in the distance, a world quickly falling on all of our shoulders. Intriguingly bizarre, cleverly creepy, and everything in between.

Jeremy Robert Johnson is not going to take you to a happy place. In his collection of short fiction, "Angeldust Apocalypse" the reader is taken for a ride into a world that's broken and screwed up and yet, you enjoy it anyway. Each story is well written, well placed in the collection. None disappoint. These stories are drug crazed, death crazed and simply crazed. Fans of the bizarre will enjoy this collection very much. This is a good first taste of Mr. Johnson's writing. If this collection is any indicator what's to come will be even better. Physically the book also presents well. Easily readible type, fantastic cover art by Morten Bak. And the ever tempting promise of new works by Mr. Johnson. All in all a good read and worthy buy.
