Publisher Comments:

Professional and aspiring writers are busy people — too busy to navigate the thicket of books, blogs, articles, and industry reports of potential use to their careers. This book collects the best of recent articles on craft, creativity, and career advancement in the professional writing field. This first edition features more than 40 articles on everything from writing techniques to the marketing of articles, stories, and book-length projects. The 2007 guide contains six sections: Motivation and Creativity, The Craft of Writing, Pitching and Proposals, Marketing Your Work, Career Development, and Literary Insights. The articles come from pieces published mostly in the prior year in major writer magazines; in books on writing, creativity, and marketing; on literary blogs; and author websites. Unaffiliated with any organization, The New Writer’s Handbook is the premier annual anthology for ongoing professional development for working and emerging writers.
