Like most of Philippa Gregory's books, The White Queen is an enthralling, magical look at the life of a real person. While quite a bit of this book is fictitious, there's enough real history dotting the pages to give you a feel for the real character of Elizabeth Woodville and the many people who came into her life as she went from a poor widow to a dazzling queen, to a strong and independent woman and mother. This rendition of the story of the boys in the tower and their mother is not one you will want to miss. Amazing story telling!

It may be that I got this book for Christmas or that I just finished reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, or that I finished the book in less than two weeks..but for some reason, I really enjoyed this book and I wouldn't mind reading the next one...tonight. It is a little less racy than some of Gregory's other books. However, there is still much of the scheming and crazy struggle for power as I saw in the Bolean books. Gregory is a great historical fiction author for those of us who aspire to be princesses and queens in our dreams.
