Now that Domino magazine is no longer arriving in my mailbox each month--and now that there are fewer and fewer shelter mags to love--this book holds an extra special place on my bookshelf. Even though I've poured over every dreamy image and gorgeously styled home in this book many, many times, I still pick it up several times a year for inspiration. And every time I do, I discover something new, charming and ingenious to love.
There is just something so appealing about getting a glimpse into how other people live--especially those who are just so stylish. But this book is definitely more than a home picture book. The editors of this book provide practical, room-to-room advice on how to decorate with an invaluable list of resources in the back of the book (though I'm more inclined to shop at thrift and secondhand shops).
While I love new online shelter mags like Rue and Lonny, there is something to be said for being able to curl up in (an artfully made) bed and feel the pages between your fingers. Of course, I'm a home decor junkie. But I'd venture to say that even those who dabble in styling or casually think they'd like to improve the look of their place will find many doable and inspiring ideas here.
