Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along.

With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.

For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

Review:

"Fitzpatrick debuts with a gripping chiller where humans become pawns in the hands of fallen angels. Nora Grey is assigned a new partner in her sophomore biology class. Her instincts tell her Patch is trouble, and she doesn't like the way he is already inside her head ('Part of me wanted to run away from him screaming, Fire! A more reckless part was tempted to see how close I could get without... combusting'). Soon she is questioning her sanity — she is attacked by a masked figure that smashes her car window, but later the glass is intact. And the same figure ransacks her bedroom, but everything is in place when the police arrive. The violence and danger escalate, and Nora learns that Patch is actually a fallen angel seeking to become human. Fitzpatrick regularly tweaks the tension, resulting in a fast-paced, exhilarating read. Nora's tempestuous relationship with prototypical bad boy Patch is genuinely, even unsettlingly, seductive — fans of paranormal romance should be rapt. Ages 14 — up." He watches and waits. He knows and follows. He is your guardian.
There is a new guy at school. He is handsome but dark and mysterious. He is interested in you. But, here is the catch, he knows everything about you. He knows more than your closest friends. This is the relationship of Nora and Patch. Patch is the new kid at Nora's school. He is everywhere Nora is and she is scared. He watches her like he is her guardian angel. I really liked this book. It was very suspenseful and was a definite page turner. I loved the mystery and the chills I got while reading, Hush Hush. This book is intended for young adults. But anyone who wants to read about fallen angels or mythical people should definitely read, Hush Hush.

I picked this book up at the library because the cover looked interesting. I was disappointed. It was a 5 star cover on a one star book to sell the book. The characters lacked depth, emotion and development. I read this book in a day, not because I liked it, because I wanted to get it over with.
I am still wondering what the book is REALLY about. There was no symbolism and there was no mystery or suspense. To me it was way to one-dimensional.
The characters felt like windows, too see through and as fake as a nose job.
I do love the idea of fallen angels, but for me this was a dud.
Fallen, by Lauren Kate is a much better fallen angel book.
I don't condemn anyone who likes the book or disagrees with my opinion.
But I suggest you save your money and skip this book.
Needless to say I was glad I picked it up from the library and didn't buy it, I'd be asking for a refund.
