About the Author

Josand#233;e Bisaillon grew up in St-Hyacinthe, Quand#233;bec, Canada. Rather than follow in her father's footsteps as a veterinary surgeon, she chose to cut animals from paper: they were colorful, low maintenance and always in fine health.Bisaillon has won many Applied Arts Illustration and LUX Illustration Awards in Quand#233;bec, and was a finalist for the 2008 Governor General's Literary Awards in Canada.

This is a must-have for early/emergent readers!!! There are very few words on a page, there are repetitive sight words, and they know who's talking in the word bubbles!!! This is a very creative "story" and very entertaining, particularly for children!! It's much more fun than flashcards, and probably equally if not more effective at teaching essential reading skills!! I can't recommend it highly enough!!

I have been touched by the positive impact of this book on the many learners at our elementary school in Virginia. "We are in a Book" was just voted as our school community's favorite picture book of the year.

We have created paper bag puppets of elephant and piggie. The students love working on their fluency oral reading skills with this amazing beginning reader book.

This is a title that begs and almost pleads with the reader to go through the pages over and over again.

Two thumbs up from this library teacher----
