andlt;Bandgt;Itand#8217;s finally here. The long-awaited sequel to the bestselling andlt;iandgt;Unwindandlt;/iandgt;, which andlt;iandgt;Publishers Weekly andlt;/iandgt;called a and#8220;gripping, brilliantly imagined futuristic thriller.and#8221;andlt;/Bandgt;andlt;BRandgt;andlt;BRandgt;Thanks to Connor, Lev, and Risaand#8212;and their high-profile revolt at Happy Jack Harvest Campand#8212;people can no longer turn a blind eye to unwinding. Ridding society of troublesome teens while simltaneously providing much-needed tissues for transplant might be convenient, but its morality has finally been brought into question. However, unwinding has become big business, and there are powerful political and corporate interests that want to see it not only continue, but also expand to the unwinding of prisoners and the impoverished.andlt;BRandgt;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp; Cam is a product of unwinding; made entirely out of the parts of other unwinds, he is a teen who does not technically exist. A futuristic Frankenstein, Cam struggles with a search for identity and meaning and wonders if a rewound being can have a soul. And when the actions of a sadistic bounty hunter cause Camand#8217;s fate to become inextricably bound with the fates of Connor, Risa, and Lev, heand#8217;ll have to question humanity itself.andlt;BRandgt;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp; Rife with action and suspense, this riveting companion to the perennially popular andlt;iandgt;Unwind andlt;/iandgt;challenges assumptions about where life begins and endsand#8212;and what it means to live.

UnWholly, the sequel to the outstanding Unwind, is the best kind of sequel. It doesn't just continue the story of teens being sent to camps to be killed so their bodies can be harvested for parts, it takes the conflict to a much deeper level and focuses on the complexities of the unwinding rebellion and the sinister politics and economics behind the creation of unwinding laws. There are also three fascinating new characters who play important roles in the rising action and provide more insight into the depraved thinking of society. The action builds to a thrilling crisis and climax that will have readers anxious the read book 3.

Jay Tweedle, January 1, 2013 (view all comments by Jay Tweedle)
Neal Shusterman is by far the master of suspense for any age. Unwholly kept me on my toes and waiting for the next chapter from start to finish and has made me extremely anxious for the release of the Unwind movie and the final book in the series (Unsouled). I've referenced this book to many of my reading obsessed friends and they couldn't agree more.
