Portlandia: A Guide for Visitorsby Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein
Sunday, March 16, 2014 12:00 PM
Powell's City of Books on Burnside, Portland, OR
Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein's The Portlandia Activity Book (McSweeney's) is a compendium of guaranteed enrichment for the Pacific Northwestern part of your psyche — based on their satirical sketch comedy series. Like a cool high school that prefers a sweat lodge to the traditional classroom, this book will expand your mind through participation, dehydrate you to a state of emotional rawness, and linger in the corners of your bare soul.

An up-to-date guide to shopping, schools, and entertainment. A city activities guide for older adults who are stuck in perpetual early twentysomething-dom. A guide for getting around, either by foot, or by bicycle, the official car of Portlandia. Featured also are the 9 official bicycle rules of the road, drawn up by Spyke and his bike comrades. Not to be ignored. Come see Portlandia for yourself and see what inspired the hit show currently airing on IFC.
