About the Author
Peggy Vance holds an MA in Art History from Christ's College, Cambridge, and has worked as an art historian and assistant curator of design at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. She has edited a wide range of books on fine, decorative and applied art, and is the author of Gaugin: The Masterworks, William Morris Wallpapers and Faberge.
Celia Goodrick-Clarke trained as a textile designer in Birmingham and London and taught art and textile design in London. She has worked for a variety of magazines and weekly newspapers including Homes and Gardens, Sunday Express Magazine and Metropolitan Home.
