Publisher Comments:

Salley Mavor's charming, bendable Wee Folk fairies and dolls are real showstoppers. Now it's easy for readers to create their own! These 18 wonderful Wee Folk projects feature dolls, pins, purses, checkbook and cell phone covers, and more. Best of all, no sewing machine is required! Techniques include applique, embroidery, thread wrapping, and painting--and it's easy to add buttons, beads, natural materials, and "found objects" for extra embellishment. Clear, concise directions and how-to illustrations make everything simple and fun. This guide is ideal for doll-makers and crafters of every skill level!

This book has spurred great creativity in my art life. Using Salley's basic patterns, I have made many, many dolls...all delightful, some quite elaborate! As one who enjoys both painting and fabrics, I am now using Salley's inspiration to combine paint and fabric in my own picture designs. In addition to purchasing Wee Folk, I have ordered all of Mavor's children's picture books for further study. Salley Mavor is extremely talented in her use of fabric for magical storytelling!!!
