Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

In today's busy world, keeping a nature journal offers us the chance to slow down and appreciate the simple beauty and peace of the natural world. With the detailed instructions in "Nature Journaling", readers can create their own personal journal to record family trips, learn about the birds, plants, landscapes and sky in a particular habitat, reflect on seasonal changes, and develop an appreciation for the unique characteristics of a particular place.

Focused exercises for developing the ability to observe and record, and easy techniques for drawing, using color, and integrating text and illustration enable readers to continually build upon their journaling skills. Throughout the book, the authors own beautifully illustrated journal entries and examples of others' journals serve as inspiration. The book concludes with suggestions for nature journaling with groups of children and adults as well as in a classroom setting.
