Not only are Roland Smith's myriad of kids books some of my favorites, but this recent title written with his wife Marie is a true gem! It's as approachable to picture books fans as it is to alphabet book seekers and lovers of the Northwest! I can't wait to see the Smiths promote this title, as they're as good with the kids they write for as they are with the books they author.

Publisher Comments:

Join authors Roland and Marie Smith and illustrator Michael Roydon as they take you on a journey across the Oregon Trail and through the picturesque Beaver State. In B is for Beaver, the Smiths' rhyming verse and sidebar expository text illuminate the wonders of Hell's Canyon, the lush lands of the Willamette Valley, and the surging seas of the neighboring Pacific Ocean. An effective educational tool inside the classroom and out, readers of all ages in the state of Oregon and beyond can embark on this journey any time they wish.

First purchased copy for my grandson. He passed it down to his sister. Now my twin granddaughters are ready to learn to read-so I am getting a copy for them.I want them to be familiar with a place I love and hope to return to someday.
