His work has appeared in magazines such as Men's Health, GQ, and Outside. Also the author of Fanatic: Ten Things All Sports Fans Should Do Before They Die, he lives in new Jersey.

The jury is still out on whether I actually SHOULD have read this book or not. The reviewers called it "heartwarming" and a tale (or tail) of redemption. It was that. It was also horrifying. During the Vick business, I read only headlines and refused to get the detail of what happened at Bad News Kennels. I was angry and terribly sad. Now I am furious. Don't let the reviews fool you; you learn heartbreaking and terrifying details of what happened to dogs prior to the search and rescue that are scarier than anything Stephen King to write. Details that I wish were NOT in my head. I cried. I laughed. I'm changed from reading this book, and isn't that what a good book is supposed to do? All I'm sure of is that I'm going to love on and hug my dogs just a little bit more since I read this.
