The first thing to do when one receives a diagnosis of a mental illness is get a second opinion...then maybe a third. Then, when coming to terms with it...what is essential is "personal accountability". That requires educating one's self. "Controling" one's mood swings is a fallacy, not allowing one's self to go out of control is not. This book contains thoughtful practices to keep folks mindful of their illness. This is not a bad thing. It's a good thing. It's being diligent and not in denial. I recommend it for those beginning a self-help regimine
