George's firsthand experience details the ugly side of the sub-continent's economic chasm. He covers land deals gone bad, the corrupt Indian customs agency withholding shoes and computers for kids, the lack of involvement of India's biggest companies.

Indeed, the majority of India's 1.2 billion people are the have-nots and they are not benefiting from India's purported economic boom. They are Forgotten Face of Rural Poverty.

George, an Indian from Goa, came to the US and made a small fortune. He funded startup and sustaining costs establishing a school for underprivileged kids, micro-lending for women, a regional medical center and a center for journalism.
