Publisher Comments:

For the faithful and the seeker- the inspiring New York Times bestseller from the author of The Reason for God.

Harsh economic realities are casting new light on the pursuits of sex, money, and success for happiness: careers, fortunes, marriages, and retirement security have collapsed. Many feel lost, disenchanted, and resentful.

In this inspiring new book, Timothy Keller, one of the country's most popular spiritual guides, reveals the unvarnished truth about faith, our hearts' desires, and the pursuit of happiness-and where all of it can ultimately be found.

About the Author

Timothy Keller started Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan in 1989 with his wife, Kathy, and their three sons. Today, Redeemer has more than five thousand regular Sunday attendees, plus the members of more than one hundred new churches around the world.

Timothy Keller writes about the Christian faith with grace and love. In Counterfeit Gods, he exposes the many things to which we give greater allegiance than to God. He includes personal idols such as success, power, comfort and security, as well as the cultural lust of greed and prejudices, religious self-righteousness, and lots of other areas . He has a depth of understanding of the gospel that puts these issues into a new perspective . What makes Keller so special is that he shines the light on our greatest weakness always with tremendous insight, grace, and kindness, always pointing to the hope of Christ in delivering us from our sins. This book, as well as Prodigal God, has been life-changing for me, and I don't say that lightly at all.
