About the Author

Pablo Amaringo (1938-2009) trained as a curandero in the Amazon, healing himself and others from the age of ten, but retired in 1977 to become a full-time painter and art teacher at his Usko-Ayar school in Pucullpa, Peru. The author of andlt;Iandgt;Ayahuasca Visions: The Religious Iconography of a Peruvian Shamanandlt;/Iandgt;, his art has been displayed throughout the world.Ross Heaven is a therapist and workshop leader in personal development and healing whose books include andlt;Iandgt;Vodou Shaman, Darkness Visible, Spirit in the City,andlt;/Iandgt; and andlt;Iandgt;The Journey to You.andlt;/Iandgt; He teaches Darkness Visible workshops internationally and lives in England.Howard G. Charing is a director of the Eagle Wingandrsquo;s Centre for Contemporary Shamanism and has taught at Dr. Michael Harnerandrsquo;s Foundation for Shamanic Studies.
