Publisher Comments:

The Pursuit of God; The Human Thirst for the Divine by A.W. Tozer is the beloved, timeless, classic, work on man's desire to continually draw closer to God   Whether you are thirsting for more of God or do not yet know of the "mighty longing after God" that so consumed A.W. Tozer's life and ministry, The Pursuit of God will draw you into a deep, abiding relationship with the One who nourishes the soul.

This is the spiritual masterpiece that exposes the roadblocks that keep us from fully knowing God.  It also reveals our responsibility of the pursuit and ultimately leads us into the very presence of God Himself.  In the middle of day-to-day life, have you somehow forgotten that Christianity is a living, vibrant relationship with a personal God? Tozer reminds you, and challenges you to renew your relationship with the loving God. In each of 10 chapters, he explains one aspect of waiting on God, and ends with a prayer. This book is clearly the number one best seller of all of A.W. Tozer books and is called "one of the all-time most inspirational books" by a panel of Christian magazine writers.

Synopsis:

During a train trip from Chicago in the late 1940s, A.W. Tozer began to work on The Pursuit of God. He wrote all night long, the words coming to him as fast as he could put them down. By the next morning, when the train pulled into McAllen, Texas, the rough draft was done.

Although written in such a remarkably short period of time, the depth, clarity and completeness of Tozer's message has made The Pursuit of God an enduring favorite — about 1.7 million copies in print in 15 languages.

Prepare yourself for a deeply meaningful and enjoyable experience.

Synopsis:

"This book is a modest attempt to aid God's hungry children so to find Him". So said A. W. Tozer in 1949 in the original preface to The Pursuit of God.

My first read of A.W. Tozer and I am ready to read more. He lacked a formal education yet became a prolific writer and Theologian. He does a masterful job of looking at the reality that God gave us Him and he gave us stuff for our delight. Due to sin, we replace our desire for God with stuff and our souls remain parched. He helps to take this simple theology of selfishness and persuades you that you can succeed in having real victory over "stuff" and find true intimacy with our creator.
