Get Off Your Ass and Run!: A Tough-Love Running Program for Losing the Excuses and the Weightby Ruth Field
Synopses & Reviews
Get Off Your Ass and Run! is for readers who feel unhappy with their bodies but have been unable to commit to any exercise or diet plan long enough to see results. Witty and wise, this comprehensive beginner's guide scoffs at excuses, drags readers off their couches, and makes them embrace a new way of living with:
• A six-step program for developing a running routine without injuring themselves or their motivation
• Tips on establishing good eating habits to fuel their new fitness regimen
• Q&As and testimonials (including one from the author's 56-year-old mother, who hadn't exercised in 15 years.
Complete with guidance from longtime runner Ruth Field and sass from her alter ego, The Grit Doctor, Get Off Your Ass and Run! is perfect for those who need a rocket under their asses to get moving, shed their delusions of thinneur, and stick with the program. If you want to rediscover your long-lost energy and ditch that ass-shaped dent on your couch for good, there's only one thing left to do . . . run!
Is there a large ass-shaped dent in your sofa? A gym membership burning a hole in your bank account? Does the sight of your wobbly thighs leave you cowering under a blanket?
About the Author
Ruth Field is a lawyer and a passionate runner who, while pregnant with twins and under doctor’s orders not to run, decided to write Get Off Your Ass and Run as an outlet for her frustration. She lives in North London with her husband and twin sons. She has a running column in the Irish Times and has contributed to the Evening Standard. She has also been featured in The Times, The Bookseller, and Closer magazine, among others.
