Hi Travellers!
First we are long term travellers and we use lonely planet for the last 13 years. Most of it are good. (only a few exceptions are disappointment like South America on a shoestring who was a shame) We used this book to travel 12 countries of Africa (most of the west) for 8 months. It was a deception, to many information were missing and some were not right or irrelevant in a condense book.
Also, we don't know if LP look for new customers, but when, in Africa, or else where, they offer rooms at 150$,250$ or more; We think that if somebody can pay that price, they have the money to take an organise tour with a guide, so a book like that is basically no use
Sorry for this negative review, Hope I help you to build better in the future.
Monic
