How to Build a Slip Roll Machine

How to Build a Slip Roll Machine Cover

Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

The machine detailed in this manual is simple and inexpensive to build. Not only does it look professional, it will do a professional job as well. Straight and tapered cylinders from 22 gauge mild steel can easily be formed as well as 20 gauge in shorter widths. A few of the features are: bronze bushings throughout for simple and smooth operation, a removable top roll making the finished work easy to remove, an adjustable bottom roll to enable the machine to handle different gauge material and a rear roll that adjusts up and down to control the diameter of the cylinder. The rear roll can even be adjusted at an angle makng it possible to form tapered cylinders or cones.

Use three 1 1/2" diameter steel rolls made from pipe in a simple configuration to turn a flat sheet of 24" wide metal into cylinders of adjustable diameters. You will need a bandsaw, drill press, and a welder to build this useful machine. A valuable tool for sheet metal workers.
