Publisher Comments:

"Giving Thanks" is a special children's version of the Thanksgiving Address, a message of gratitude that originated with the Native people of upstate New York and Canada and that is still spoken at ceremonial gatherings held by the Iroquois, or Six Nations.

This is a beautiful book. Combining an easily understood translation of the traditional Thanksgiving Address of the Six Nations-Mohawk, Oneida, Cayuga, Onondaga, Seneca and Tusacarora-and powerful yet elegant images this is an excellent book to share with your family at anytime of year. It is a message of thanks and celebration emphasizing the connections in our environment.
The text of Thanksgiving Address in Mohawk is included on the last page of the book.
Though written with children in mind this is a wonderful book to share with friends and family of all ages.
