Publisher Comments:

The worlds cetaceans have become a symbol of the importance of successful marine conservation. Today, whale watches are a popular family recreational activity, and many of us have a particular fascination with these denizens of the deep. This handy volume presents the most recent research on whale and dolphin behavior and biology including breeding, feeding, migrating, and group behavior, accompanied by superb photographs and drawings. The latter half of the book is a field guide to the different species of both whales and dolphins throughout the world. With its authoritative text, superb graphics, and durable flexibound format, this volume is an invaluable travel companion for whale watchers, amateur oceanographers, and marine mammal lovers.
