People either love this book or hate it. Clearly I'm in the first category. Many knitters think of garter stitch as the ultimate in boring. It is what we all learned to do first because it only requires that you know one stitch - knit. It is all knit, all the time. And everything comes out in boring ridges. Well think again! This is the anti-boring garter stitch book. Because all patterns require only garter stitch, they are accessible to beginners. But for experienced knitters who like to think outside the box, there is plenty here for them like the vest of many colors.

In recent years there have been very high end designers who design primarily in garter stitch. The two most prominent are Hanne Falkenberg whose work is only available in expensive kits, and Viv Hoxbro who also sells primarily in kits. Here is a chance to see whether jazzy-looking garter is for you at a very reasonable price.
