My husband read this and enjoyed it. Here's what he had to say about it: "Having grown up without a father, I found this book very useful in establishing for me what it means to be a father. But more than that, it helped me understand what it means to be a better partner. Also, the book made me aware of patterns in communication--sometimes you revert to patterns you developed in childhood. And this book talks about being conscious of those patterns so you can respond consciously instead of subconsciously.

It also gave me confidence that I can be a father. Anytime I think of being a father, I think about going from now to handling a teenage daughter or son, and that scares me. But the book makes you think about the 15 years of training you're going to have leading up to that."
