Non-Invasive Non-Destructive Assessment of Underground Pipe

Synopses & Reviews

Book News Annotation:

Evaluates nondestructive and noninvasive technologies that can be used by water utilities to assess the condition of buried pipelines, and help determine when pipelines should be replaced or repaired. Field trials on iron pipes and concrete pressure pipes were performed using five methods—remote-field eddy current (RFEC), passive acoustic emission, impact echo, electromagnetic, and sonic—with equipment from seven vendors. The report summarizes testing results for each pipe material, the advantages and limitations of each method, and the approximate costs for pipeline inspection. No index.
