Medical Biofilms educates medical personnel at all levels about the structure and architecture of biofilms relative to specific diseases, describing problems and limitations of present systems as well as the need for new techniques. It also describes methods for detecting and quantifying organisms within biofilms (, and then making the information usable to MDs for patient care), and the clinical and financial consequences of their outcomes.
