Publisher Comments:

AboutBook: Best friends, Donna DiSimone and Kenny George, have been out of touch since their first couple years out of college. So, a call from Kenny out of the blue thrills Donna so much (especially now that she actually has something exciting to tell him) that she barely has time to realize that this is not a happy, routine catch up call before blurting out her good news. Donna soon learns that Kenny's news makes her recent engagement seem trite. Kenny, whom she had spent her entire childhood with, is finally coming clean about the lie he had been living for so many of those years. He reveals that he is not gay, and is at first, a little hurt when Donna does not exclaim outright disbelief. However, he is soon reassured of her support as they begin to talk it out. In fact, for Donna, having a relationship of any kind is more surreal to her than Kenny having a heterosexual one. Donna has generally spent so much time loathing herself that she has never, until she met her fianc, Cameron, had any notion of loving or being loved by anyone else. Reuniting becomes more than just fun and memories when tragedy strikes first Kenny, then Donna. The two are finally forced to quit meandering through life, and take charge of their futures. They are forced to deal with the kinds of problems they have always avoided-to participate in life rather than watching others live. In short, they are forced to become real.
