London: Printed for J. Nichols & Son 1806. 12th edition in 4 volumes. Inserted are several letters wanting at the time of the first publication (OCLC). In full leather with gilt borders spines in gilt with two contrasting leather labels marbled endpapers. Boards show some wear the spine leather on volumes 1&4 is a little bit fragile with vol 4 having a chip at the head of the spine. All bindings are solid. Mild scattered foxing. A highly entertaining and enduring epistolary collection from a renown English man of letters. VG. JTN/wilhite.
