Although at least one fan quite reading when Will described her home town team as "the lowly Mariners" this is a great introduction to the craft of baseball. And Will is a Red Sox fan. And a conservative pundit. Never mind. His portraits of manager Tony LaRussa, pitcher Orel Hirschheiser, hitter Tony Gwynn, and shortstop Cal Ripken are miniature masters classes in both the game and in composition.
