A devil's bargain

Easily the shyest Wallflower, Evangeline Jenner stands to become the wealthiest, once her inheritance comes due. Because she must first escape the clutches of her unscrupulous relatives, Evie has approached the rake Viscount St. Vincent with a most outrageous proposition: marriage!

Sebastian's reputation is so dangerous that thirty seconds alone with him will ruin any maiden's good name. Still, this bewitching chit appeared, unchaperoned, on his doorstep to offer her hand. Certainly an aristocrat with a fine eye for beauty could do far worse.

But Evie's proposal comes with a condition: no lovemaking after their wedding night. She will never become just another of the dashing libertine's callously discarded broken hearts — which means Sebastian will simply have to work harder at his seductions...or perhaps surrender his own heart for the very first time in the name of true love.

This is, by far, my favorite Lisa Kleypas book! And whatever you do, don't listen to those bad reviews of this book! I have read them, and can tell they are just writer wannabees and jealous of Lisa Kleypas! When you hear 'too contrived' from a reviewer, that is a sure bet that she is a writer (and probably just a wannabee writer). Or if the reviewer says, 'too cliched', that's another sign of a writer wannabee who is jealous. But, all that aside, this book is deliciously and devilishly great! I wasn't disappointed in the least! I read it in 24 hours! And have since re-read it several times! Love every bit of it! And back to the writer wannabees. I'm one too. But I'm not that insecure to be jealous of Lisa Kleypas (who is the Queen of Historical Romance). Quite the contrary. I read all her books, then re-read them. Trying to learn from the best! And believe me, she is the BEST! I'd also like to recommend Tino Georgiou's bestselling novel--The Fates--if you haven't read it yet!
