Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

The Botany Coloring Book is an exciting, new approach to learning botany. The structure and function of plants, a survey of the Plant Kingdom, and associated botanical terminology are all learned through the coloring process. Coloring provides an enjoyable and effective means of learning the fundamentals of botany. Participation by the reader, through creative coloring, provides significant learning reinforcement. The text accompanying each coloring plate provides supportive explanatory material and leads the reader through the plate in a step-by-step manner. Furthermore, when finished, the colored plates provide an excellent review that the reader has helped create. Though this book is of particular value to students of botany, any reader with an interest in plants will find it a pleasurable and highly effective way to learn about plants.

Synopsis:

This book is really helpful if the words on the page bore you. It keeps you awake and wanting to do more. Really, who hates coloring? I would recommend this for any high school teacher to use with his/her students.

I've used this book in a botany class and it is invaluable. The coloring aspect helps to group aspects of the drawing together and aids recall. Great technique.
