Student-Involved Assessment for Learning is a great book for beginning teachers. Stiggins gives a new teacher all the right tools to develop methods of assessment in the classroom. The book also provides ideas on different styles of assessment and when certain types of assessment are most useful and applicable. This book is very helpful also in developing assessments that correlate with state standards and standardized testing. I would highly recommend this book to a new teacher that needs extra insight into grading and developing the right type of assessment for the teacher?s subject area. Stiggins does an excellent job of explaining his ideas and the book is very easy to read with numerous examples!
