Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Renowned African American journalist Patricia Raybon comes face-to-face with her own race-driven instincts and past in this powerful book that is part journal, part memoir, part social commentary. In a brave and elegant narrative that owes much to the spirit of its potent message, "My First White Friend" invites readers of all races to explore the hard road from hatred to forgiveness, trust, love, letting go--and moving on.

This was a very good book. It reminded me of the past and how I sould treat people. We can not make others do right but we are in charge of how and what we do with and about ourselves. We also can not make people do the right things but we can do right by ourselves and others.
