Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

An uproarious comedy about a presidential administration totally off the rails. This fictional political memoir by the Personal Assistant to President Tucker, Herbert Wadlough, offers a unique, utterly self-serving inside view of the ill-fated Tucker administration, 1989-1993.

Review:

"Skewers all the cliches of political reminiscence and roasts them to a turn, or turns them to a roast." Jonathan Yardley, The Washington Post

Review:

"Buckley has got the details right, and he's got them funny." The New York Times Book Review

Review:

"This is the beest piece of American political satire in years." TheCleveland Plain Dealer

Review:

"This is a brilliant satire....A witty, very funny, intricate spoof. Buckley gives new meaning to the phrase 'He'll never work again in politics." Bob Woodward

About the Author

Christopher Buckley is a novelist and editor of Forbes FYI magazine. He lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife and two children and dog, Duck. In 1998, he was inducted into the Legion d'honneur by the president of the Republic of France for "extraordinary contributions to French culture," despite the fact that his French is barely sufficient to order a meal in a restaurant. He has been an adviser to every president since William Howard Taft, a remarkable achievement, since he was born in 1952.
