Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

When Caitlin first meets Rogerson Biscoe, he seems to be everything she wants him to be. He's handsome, sensitive, and more than a bit mysterious. And before long, Rogerson has cast a spell over Caitlin. A spell that keeps her in a dreamland from which she can't seem to break free-even when the dreams turn into nightmares. Beautifully crafted, with a vivid plot and sharply drawn characters, this is a powerful and intensely compelling story of a young girl struggling to break free of an abusive relationship.

Review:

"It's not only the plot that's vivid; the characters are also intensely real. Another pitch-perfect offering from Dessen." Booklist

Review:

"Dreamland is the story of many contemporary teen relationships. Compelling reading." School Library Journal

Synopsis:

Rogerson Biscoe, with his green eyes and dark curly hair, is absolutely seductive. Before long, sixteen-year-old Caitlin finds herself under his spell. And when he starts to abuse her, she finds she's in too deep to get herself out...

Dreamland is a sad, but very real story about relationship and abuse. I read this book and fell in love with it. It tells the dark truths about; abuse, feeling alone, and growing up troubled. I really enjoyed reading this book, and could not put it down. Sarah Dessen is a wonderfully talented author who puts love and care into every book she writes. She is one of the best authors, and is one of my favorite!!!! I recommend ANY of her books!!!!

This book actually made me cry, the author really knows how to set the setting and actually put you in the situation. I am a teenage girl myself and this book was incredibly hard to put down. I recommend this book especially to girls who have or who are feeling pain and pressure from someone close to them. I also recommend this book to any teenager who needs a taste of reality.

My friend told me about this book and I am so glad I bought it. Simply amazing. I finished it in three days, I just couldn't put it down! Sarah Dessen writes with such honesty and emotion... it's brilliant. I highly recommend this book. Especially to those who have suffered abuse.
