About the Author

SARA BARRONs work has appeared on Showtimes This American Life, National Public Radios Weekend Edition, and the Today show and at the HBO Comedy Festival in Aspen, Colorado. She lives in Brooklyn, New York. This is her first book.

After reading several heavy, serious books in 2010, I decided to round out the year with some humor. People Are Unappealing is honest, graphic and hilarious. It's hard to believe someone has survived so many humiliating experiences! By the end of the book, you realize that her stories are her revenge against mean, unkind, selfish, self-absorbed people. I started feeling better about my life (while laughing out loud) when reading about all of her up-hill battles and fruitless searches for love and and a vocation. The last story about "Madrid Days Inn" had me believing that Sara had finally found her niche: writing humorous fiction.

I have loved David Sedaris and Sarah Vowell for quite a while. I place Sara Barron right next to them. Bravo, Sara. Looking forward to her next book.
