Top pick for something to read while flying coast to coast with minimally needy children. Extremely entertaining. Augusten Burroughs and I are just about the same age, so his many cultural references are perfectly timed for me. They would invoke maudlin nostalgia, except that he is so devilish. Instead they remind me of the bittersweet angst of childhood and adolescence, which I much prefer.

I laughed out loud in so many places while reading 'Magical Thinking' by Augusten Burroughs. He's the guy who wrote 'Running With Scissors', so if you read that and liked it, you'll love this book! It's filled with 27 short, true stories of the author's life. This book makes me wish I knew him in person.
