It's 10 years old... my book group chose it anyway, looking for an easy December read. Well, I'm here to tell you that Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons is many things, but not that.
It all takes place in a neighborhood named Freesia Court over a 30 year period. It's about women, marriage, piano playing in the library, friendship, parenting, Woolworth's coffee dates, competition, trust and love. Enjoyable, absolutely; well-wriiten in so many ways; capturing the experiences of most women I know, while adding laugh-out-loud moments right alongside the need for a box of tissues. If you like to read (duh, you're at powells.com if you're reading this) or are in a book group or are a mother or... any number of possibilities present themselves, you might want to pick this up and settle in for a very good read.

Lorna Landvik has a very enjoyable writing style. I also liked "Oh My Stars". The women of AHEB are such an interesting collection, I think any reader will feel a connection to at least one of these wise, witty, & wonderful women!

This is a fun novel. Great for summer reading. The bonds of friendship she creates through the book club make you wish you lived on Freesia Court so you could join the club.
