Synopses & ReviewsPublisher Comments:The master of the new noir, Dennis Lehane brilliantly interweaves beauty and violence, integrity and evil in this thrilling, powerfully resonant novel.
A beautiful, grief-stricken woman has vanished without a trace. So has the detective hired to find her. And a lot of money. Enter saavy, tough-nosed private investigators Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro. Rooted in the no-nonsense streets of Boston's blue-collar Dorchester, they've seen it all — and survived. But this case leads them into unexpected territory where nothing is sacred — a land of lies and corruption where trusting anyone could get them killed ... where taking any step could be their last. Synopsis:A beautiful, grief-stricken woman has vanished without a trace. So has the detective hired to find her. And a lot of money…
Enter tough-nosed private investigators Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro. Rooted in the streets of blue-collar Dorchester, they've seen it all - and survived. But this case leads them into unexpected territory: a place of lies and corruption, where trusting anyone could get them killed, and where nothing is sacred. Another superior thriller from Dennis Lehane, the bestselling and acclaimed author of Mystic River, Shutter Island, and Gone, Baby, Gone. Synopsis:A dying billionaire hires private detectives Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro to find his missing daughter, after the first investigator on the case has disappeared. They are about to enter a world of corruption where nothing is what it seems, and the two people they seek could be saints or sinners, victims or victimizers, alive or dead. From the gutsy streets of Boston to the rum-punch sunsets of the Florida Gulf Coast, the more Patrick and Angie learn, the better they understand: every step could be their last.
