I used this book as introductory reading in a class entitled The Psychology of Art which I taught at the Wheeler School in Providence RI. The combination of illustrations with Jung's description of his theories of archetypal symbology which form the basis of human perception and collective memory creates a formidible foundation for continuing the interplay between perception and its artistic expression. It is also useful in understanding much of human mythology and tradition.
