This was the first book by J.D. Robb that I read and was unsure if I would like it. Almost immediately I was drawn into this amazing mystery and it's believable characters. I was gripped by the story and characters and couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

This is the first book in a series with female protagonist Eve Dallas. Found in an alleyway as a child, bruised, broken and with amensia, she grew up to be a cop which a single mindedness for justice. It's a great start to her 'in death series'. My only complaint is that the sexuality in her book is less about enhancing the story and borders(or crosses) the line of soft porn. I like soft porn, but not necessarily in a murder mystery. Her story takes place somewhat in the future, but is so well written, it doesn't have a 'science fiction' feel. She develops her characters well and I looked forward to reading more about them in her subsequent books. I enjoyed every page and am now on the fourth book (Rapture in death)in this series.

The first book of Eve Dallas. Set in New York in the next 60 years, Lieutenant Eve Dallas investigates a string of homicides while encountering a powerful, rich suspect, Roarke, who is looking to be more to Lieutenant Dallas than a murder suspect. With the possible furturisitic technology, this book is exciting, intensive, suspenseful, and with a hint of romance, Naked in Death is sure to please any reader. I couldn't put this book down. Normally I'm not a mystery reader, but when I got this book, I couldn't stop reading.
