Publisher Comments:

Kelley Armstrong's debut novel--which does "much the same for werewolves as Anne Rice did for vampires" ("Rocky Mountain News")--is now available in mass market paperback. Thirty-year-old Elena Michaels comes to terms with her feral appetites as the world's only living female werewolf.

This a great introduction to some of the endearing, & endlessly intriguing characters of Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld series. Elena, the only female werewolf in the world, is a strong, compelling protagonist. We journey with her as she at first tries to run from her new life, but ultimately hast to confront it and choose whether to embrace it, or keep running. She, and the rest of the characters feel like real people, who just happen to be werewolves. The universe that Kelley Armstrong creates with this first book is believable, & addicting. Though, in my opinion, this is the weakest of the Otherworld books, it is still a great read. The story only gets better as you read the rest of the series. I highly recommend you start with Bitten. It will guide you into this new world, & prepare you for the large collection of eccentric super natural beings you will continue to meet in the rest of the Otherworld series.

Kelley Armstrong began my all time favorite series with this book. The characters are strong yet imperfect; the story is woven tightly with an intricate balance between morals and justice. By the end you need to know more about this world and all who inhabit it. You are not disappointed as the author gives you the pleasure of their stories from all different points of view throughout the series which is still a part of this readers world today. Elena the main character in "Bitten" becomes a central character again later in the series, however you still know her whereabouts and life's doings throughout the books.

A most excellent author and a tremendous read!

Bitten tells the story of Elena, was has had a really difficult childhood and is just starting to come to terms with it all when she's bitten and becomes a werewolf.
10 years later she's left her pack and moved to the city where she lives with her boyfriend. Things aren't easy, living with a human and in the city, but she's managing.
This original plot was witty, descriptive, well written, fast paced and captivating.
The characters came alive on the page to take you on a thrilling journey.
Unputdownable!
