About the Author

The late Wayne W. Bennett graduated from the FBI National Police Academy, held an LLB degree in law, and served as the Director of Public Safety for the Edina, Minnesota, Police Department as well as Chief of Police of the Boulder City, Nevada, Police Department.Kären M. Hess holds a Ph.D. in English and in instructional design from the University of Minnesota and a Ph.D. in criminal justice from Pacific Western University. Dr. Hess has also co-authored the following Wadsworth texts: CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION, INTRODUCTION TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE, INTRODUCTION TO PRIVATE SECURITY, JUVENILE JUSTICE, MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION IN LAW ENFORCEMENT, CONSTITUTIONAL LAW, and CAREERS IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND RELATED FIELDS.
