Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Once a sworn enemy of all monsters, Anita is now the human consort of both Master Vampire Jean Claude and leopard shapeshifter Micah. When a centuries-old vampire hits St. Louis, Anita finds herself needing all the dark forces her passion can muster to save the ones she loves.

Review:

"[O]ne the more fascinating fictional heroines since Scarlet O'Hara — and a hell of a lot more fun than most....[T]he author is back on track with the best Blake yet." Publishers Weekly (Starred Review)

Review:

"To say Anita has her hands full is an understatement....Hamilton's complex, enthralling world is utterly absorbing, and Anita's many fans will be thrilled to see her back in action." Booklist

Review:

"Anita is a smart gal who can think fast and shoot even faster....Earlier books in the series focused on a mystery rather than Anita's complex private life and were much more interesting." Library Journal

Review:

"Ms. Hamilton's writing is quite good and I believe she could have produced an excellent book with the serial killer plot, if she would have gotten down to business and developed the plot, instead of turning out page after dreary page of vampire sex." Barb Wright, BookReporter.com

Review:

"Hits the ground running and doesn't let up...erotic." St. Louis Post-Dispatch

This series only gets better because you have an ongoing, chronological saga with sizzle and all the complexities that visit each of us in relationships, plus the completely over the top world of necromancy, werewolves, werecats, vampires, witches, magic and ongoing life and death struggles. This time around, Anita is asked to reanimate a corpse that holds the key to a long-ago crime, but there are several beings that don't want the past dug up again. I loved this book it concentrated more on the vampire politics and we were allowed to delve more into the council and its strange brand of politics. Also the introduction of a new character Belle Morte and her brand of malevolence into the series should make the next book even more interesting. Uniquely we get to see a little more of Jean-Claude and for the first time Ms. Hamilton allows her readers to feel sympathy for him, some of his past experiences he had at 'court' are revealed, as well as how he was made and how he became the powerful and sexy Jean-Claude that we now know and love. There is major vampire suffering in this book, with the build up we have all enjoyed reading in previous books of this series of the love-hate relationship between Jean-Claude and Asher finally reaching pinnacle in spectacular Hamilton fashion. Cerulean Sins ultimately gets us past the "Anita and Richard" part of the plot as Richard features very little in this book, however who knows for the future, as the door has certainly been left open for Richard.

I love all of the Anita blake books and Laurell K. Hamilton can do no wrong by me, not the way she writes.
