As a kindergarten teacher, I can relate to the excitedness of Lily wanting to share something with the class. Lily can't wait and blurts out her news for show and tell. Mr. Slinger, cool teacher, takes away her belongings for the day and Lily is so angry that she draws a really mean picture of Mr. Slinger only later to regret doing it. Lily takes responsibility for her actions by giving herself a time out at home and draws Mr. Slinger a really, really, really, really, nice apology picture. Mr. Henkes captures a young child perfectly!
