This is the book that first really got me into reading. I read it in middle school and since then I've been hooked. I still remember wishing I was the main character and wondering how I would handle being lost in the woods.

I read this book a couple of times in middle school. I still remember most of it today, some 18 years ago. It was the first book I read where someone my age was completely alone and somehow found a way to survive. By the end, Brian is not only surviving, but creating his own life and making his own way. There is a lot of inspiration in this book, and quite a bit of adventure. I highly recommend this book.
