Tourists frequently travel to the northwestern states for one reason: to pick huckleberries.  It is a huge industry in the Rocky Mountain states, especially Montana, Oregon, and Washington, where the weather is perfect for producing beautiful dark berries. This gift-sized cookbook is printed in huckleberry purple and includes recipes such as Huckleberry Sourdough Pancakes and Huckleberry Cheese Pie. Few berries merit a dedicated cookbook, but, if you've been to Montana in the summer, you know this book will be an instant hit.

Alex Hester is a chef and caterer, as well as a camp counselor at Intermountain Children’s Home. Stephanie Hester is an outdoors writer and program director at the National Parks Conservation Association. They live in Helena, Montana.

fabulous meals for weddings, parties, and major events at the

Intermountain Children's Home, where he's worked as a counselor to

troubled kids for more than 10 years. His program often features outdoor

activities such as camping and outdoor cooking with the kids in his

group.

Stephanie Hester is program director for the National Parks Conservation

Association and was formerly an editor for outdoor recreation, travel,

and local interest books at Globe. As part of the marketing department

at Globe and Falcon, she was instrumental in the success of A Montana
