Publisher Comments:

Detective Reuben Diego Montoya is back in New Orleans. Thanks to years of working with the dark side of society, his youthful swagger is gone, replaced by a determined, take-no-prisoners stride. He'll need every bit of it, because a serial killer is turning the Big Easy into his personal playground. The victims are killed in pairs--no connection, no apparent motive, no real clues. Somebody's playing a sick game, and Montoya intends to beat him to it. As more bodies are found, Montoya's in a desperate race to find a killer whose crimes are getting more terrifying and closer all the time. Plunging deep into a nightmare investigation will uncover a shocking revelation. For the past is never completely gone. Its sins must be avenged, its wrong righted. And this time, Detective Reuben Montoya may pay the price.

Synopsis:

The #1 "New York Times" bestselling author of "Fatal Burn" delivers her most powerful and terrifying novel yet. New Orleans detective Reuben Montoya returns to match wits with a twisted psychopath whose very presence makes his victims "shiver."

Synopsis:

A serial killer is turning New Orleans into his personal playground. The victims are killed in pairs - no connection, no apparent motive, no real clues. It's a very sick game, and it's only just begun. Abby Chastain left New Orleans long ago and for good reason. Now she's back where she feels watched, as if the devil himself is scraping a fingernail along her spine. It doesn't help that Detective Reuben Montoya is convinced she's somehow the key to unlocking the murders - a mystery that has something to do with Our Lady of Virtues Mental Hospital, a decaying old asylum where unspeakable crimes were once committed and a human predator may still wait. As more bodies are found in gruesome, staged scenarios, Montoya and Abby are in a desperate race to stop the killer.

SHIVER, Lisa Jackson. Abby Chastian?s had more than her share of grief. When she was a child, her mother, (a patient at a mental hospital), fell to her death on their shared birthday, before her very eyes. As an adult, her husband (who cheated on her with her sister), is found murdered after publicly humiliating her on his radio program with a future nun headed strewn over his dead body.
