Synopses & ReviewsPublisher Comments:Boo! Harriet Ziefert and award-winning artist G. Brian Karas combine talents to create a charming Halloween tale, complete with pop-ups, pull-tabs, and flaps. What a holiday treat for kids. It’s fright night in the moonlight, with thrills, chills, and goosebumps. That’s because the little witch Griselda and the young wizard George have come together to scare up some spookiness and see which one can frighten the moon with the loudest, most spine-tingling BOO! Every page features a fun novelty that shows what happens as the contest heats up. The moon surges in a pop-up, a rat leaps in fear under a flap, and (with the help of a tab) ghosts hiding behind windows that really open run for their lives. The satisfying ending—when Griselda and George realize that only by joining forces can they achieve their goal—teaches a valuable lesson in the most appealing way.
G. Brian Karas has illustrated more than 65 books since 1983. He has received numerous awards, including the Boston Globe Horn Book Honor for Home on the Bayou (1997). Raising Sweetness, which he illustrated, was an American Library Association Notable Book in 2000. Synopsis:Writer Harriet Ziefert and award-winning artist G.
